A Night with Legends – Suicide Prevention Fundraiser Event

Shane Webcke NRL legend. During his football career, Shane represented Queensland on 24 occasions and represented Australia in 26 tests. Playing for the Brisbane Broncos for some 12 he was also named Daly M Prop of the Year 3times. Having faced his own challenges over the years, including the tragic death of his father at 18, Shane is a true legend who has overcome adversity to succeed in both his professional and personal life.

Peter “Spida”Everitt. Former AFL player with a career that saw him excel with St Kilda, Hawthorn and the Sydner Swans. He finished his career having played 291 games in the AFL and has worked in the media since retiring.

Brant Webb. One of the miners who survived being trapped for two weeks in a confined space underground after an earthquake caused a collapse at the Beaconsfield Gold Mine in Tasmania in 2006. The rescue mission captured the hearts of the nation and media attention around the world.

Also joining these legends is Rob Payne, owner of Sydner Hobart yacht “Mark Twain”. A legendary yacht having completed in 26 Sydney to Hobarts, the most of any yacht in the history of the race.

One thing these legends all have in common is their belief in perseverance and giving back to others. Each one of these legends will share their stories, allow time for questions and a photo opportunity.

The evening will include raffles and exciting auction items! Live music by local music legend Kieran McCarthy, (provided by Airlie Beach Festival of Music).

The ticket price includes a welcome drink kindly donated by XXXX and delicious canapes and platters provided by the Reef Gateway Hotel. All proceeds will be going to Whitsunday Suicide Prevenetion Network.
